Showing in the UK and at Crufts

The answer

The UK is not an FCI member: a different system, different titles, and qualification for Crufts.

A different system

The Kennel Club awards Challenge Certificates (CC). To become a Show Champion, a dog generally needs three CCs under three different judges, one of them after twelve months of age. There is no CACIB in the UK.

Crufts

The world's most famous show is held every March in Birmingham. Entry is not open: dogs must qualify. Dogs from abroad can qualify through certain results at designated shows; the list is published each year by The Kennel Club.

Travelling

From the EU you need a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination, an accepted health document (an EU pet passport issued in the EU) and a vet-administered tapeworm treatment between 24 and 120 hours before arrival. Entry must be with an approved carrier and route.

Rules change: always check the current conditions on the national kennel club's and the organiser's websites before entering.
