FCI international titles

Awarded by the FCI from CACIBs won in several member countries.

C.I.B.

International Beauty Champion

One title, two rule sets: it depends on whether your breed is subject to a working trial (hunting, guarding, herding breeds… per the FCI nomenclature). With your profile, the rule that applies to you is highlighted.

breeds not subject to a working trial

  • 4 CACIB
  • 3 countries
  • 3 judges
  • 1 year + 1 day

Win 4 CACIBs in 3 different countries under 3 different judges, with at least one year and one day between the first and the last CACIB (e.g. 1 January 2024 to 1 January 2025 at the earliest). CACIBs won in your home country count as one of the countries. Once you qualify, your national kennel club (of the owner's country of residence) sends the application to the FCI, which confirms the title.

Regardless of the number of dogs entered. The dog must be of a breed definitively recognised by the FCI and registered in a recognised studbook (not an appendix), with 3 complete generations.

breeds subject to a working trial

  • 2 CACIB
  • 2 countries
  • 2 judges
  • 1 year + 1 day

For breeds subject to a working trial, win 2 CACIBs in 2 different countries under 2 different judges, at least one year and one day apart, AND pass the working trial required for your breed. Without the working trial, your dog can aim for the C.I.E. instead. Apply through your national kennel club.

You also need a result in the breed-specific working trial (a trial where the CACT is competed for, in any FCI country); the date of the trial does not matter. Examples: IPO/IGP with a minimum score for groups 1–3, hunting test on game for groups 6 and 8, 'Very Good' in a CACT/CACIT field trial for group 7.

C.I.E.

International Show Champion

  • 4 CACIB
  • 3 countries
  • 3 judges
  • 1 year + 1 day

This is the 'beauty only' title for working breeds: 4 CACIBs in 3 different countries under 3 different judges, at least one year and one day apart, with no working trial. Apply through your national kennel club. The regulations do not provide an automatic C.I.E.-to-C.I.B. conversion: the C.I.B. needs the working trial.

Only for breeds subject to a working trial; no working trial needed.

C.I.B.-J

International Junior Beauty Champion

  • 3 CACIB-J
  • 3 countries
  • 3 judges

Win 3 CACIB-Js in the Junior class, in 3 different countries under 3 different judges, at FCI international CACIB shows. The Junior class only runs from 9 to 18 months, so plan your season early. Apply only through your national kennel club, which sends the application to the FCI with the award cards.

Only CACIB-Js won since 1 January 2023 at FCI international CACIB shows count (Junior class, 9 to under 18 months). No minimum time span between certificates.

C.I.B.-V

International Veteran Beauty Champion

  • 3 CACIB-V
  • 3 countries
  • 3 judges

Win 3 CACIB-Vs in the Veteran class (from 8 years), in 3 different countries under 3 different judges, at FCI international CACIB shows. Apply only through your national kennel club.

Only CACIB-Vs won since 1 January 2023 at FCI international CACIB shows count (Veteran class, from 8 years). No minimum time span between certificates.

CACIB (Certificat d'Aptitude au Championnat International de Beauté): awarded only at FCI international shows, to the best dog and best bitch of each breed/variety graded 'Excellent 1st' in Intermediate (15–24 months), Open, Working or Champion class (from 15 months); from 1 January 2027 the Bred by Exhibitor class is also eligible. The judge may withhold it if the dog is not of superior quality, and it only counts once confirmed by the FCI. R.CACIB: the reserve, optionally given to the second-best 'Excellent' dog; it becomes a CACIB automatically if the CACIB winner was already a C.I.B. confirmed by the FCI on the show day, or on written request by the owner/kennel club (Annex 3 form) in some cases (winner without a complete FCI pedigree, entered in the wrong class, already meeting the C.I.B. requirements, already C.I.E., or CACIB cancelled). CACIB-J: in Junior class (9 to under 18 months), to the dog and bitch graded 'Excellent 1st'; CACIB-V: in Veteran class (from 8 years), same principle. CACIB-J and CACIB-V exist since 2022/2023, are not automatic (judge and kennel club may set conditions) and have no reserve.

Regional titles, qualifications and major shows

Crufts, Latin, Iberian, Benelux, Nordic, Baltic, Alpine…: titles won across several countries, and the major shows whose title counts.

Crufts Q

Checked in the official rules

Crufts qualification

Qualification, United Kingdom (Royal Kennel Club), open to overseas dogs (GB, Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey)

This is not a title: it is the right to enter your dog at the following year's Crufts. For Crufts 2027 (4–7 March 2027, NEC Birmingham), a dog qualifies if it is a champion of a country with a reciprocal agreement with the RKC, an FCI International Champion (C.I.B./C.I.E.), or if it wins Best Dog, Best Bitch, Junior Dog or Junior Bitch of its breed at one of the nominated overseas shows in 2026 (e.g. Paris Dog Show, Lyon, Championnat de France, VDH Europasieger and Bundessieger in Dortmund, Brussels, Genk, Lisbon, Santarém, Valladolid, Bologna). At the World Dog Show 2026 and European Dog Show 2026 (Stockholm), CACIB, Junior and Veteran winners also qualify. Only RKC-recognised breeds count, and a dog not registered with the RKC needs an Authority to Compete (ATC) number.
